Hangin' Around ...

... just until Thursday. Then it's off to Vancouver and Tofino. When you say Tofino, can you say Pacific Rim National Park?

It's pretty exciting and I can hardly wait. All I need to do is some laundry and pack. Oh yea I have to try to somehow get some sleep between now and then. The last time I was in Van was in '83, I don't even remember, it was that long ago. Hell, I was only 28 then, now I'm 50. Where did the time go? Who cares, that was yesterday, it doesn't count for anything. But I have today and that's what's great!

I have room for 1750 photos and if I need more, the price of 1 GB cards has been dropping these last few weeks since 2 GB's became available.

That's the windowasher hanging around in the photo, not me man, I'm outta here on Thursday!

Peace, ciao!

The Trees

The Trees, originally uploaded by Phototrain.

Sometimes, one stands out from the rest.
Not because it is the biggest.
Not because it is the best.
Sometimes, maybe it isn't even really different.
Sometimes, maybe we just see things, in a different light.

Bob Egan ... Without Blue Rodeo

Here's Bob playing the 1929 National Steel Guitar. He played a number of instruments, including the pedal steel guitar for which he is so well known for.

He played a non-stop two hours and forty-five minutes without a break. He puts on a very good show.

The music is different from Blue Rodeo's stuff but very good. It was nice to see the place sold out for this excellent performer. He mentioned that he is planning to return to the LMC in April or May.

For $10 this was a great deal.

Snow Table

Yes, we got a foot of the beautiful stuff, maybe more! For now it's stopped, so maybe that will be all we get.

Snowsquall

Yuk! First freezing rain, then this snowsquall. and then just rain! What a mess. Not in this photo though, it's only 4:15 am. The city still sleeps. Overnight in Vancouver it is 11 degrees, celsius that is.

I seem to have messed up the blogpage here. I removed Haloscan commenting. I had been getting a number of messages that people were unable to leave comments on Haloscan. I decided to revert to blogger comments now that it has word verification and moderation tools. In the process I messed up the ole page here. What I need to know is the HTML required to have blogger comments work. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

Comments do work on Phototrain if anyone would like to pass along any info. It would be appreciated. Thanks.

Annyonghi.

Vancouver

Wow! I can hardly wait! I just paid for my plane fare to Vancouver. I'll spend 12 nights staying with my brother and his family in West Vancouver. I'm already checking out stuff, like the Aquarium, Museum and Gallery. I can hardly wait to see the palm trees along Kit's Beach Rd. Take-off day is March 23, and I return here the 4 April. The good thing is I fly in and out of London. Total price including all taxes and fees is $592.08 return.

Spring will sprung for me as soon as I exit YVR. Everythings blooming. My bro keeps sending me photos to keep me stoked. Maybe I'll grab a Greydog bus and check out Revelstoke.

Well, time to dust off the suitcase!

Ciao!
