Blue Heron
It was today just after noon. Thames River behind Labatts Brewery.
This one caught two fish in the 10-15 minutes I was there getting photos of it. They are incredible to watch.
They crouch down like a cat then lunge forward nailing the fish underwater. It's very spectacular, very National Geographic.
I was strolling along camera in hand when I spotted it through the trees. They stand about 3-4 feet tall, I think.
I'm about 30 feet away on the riverbank, in the shade. Taken with full digital zoom on an Olympus D-540.
I know it could see me and hear me. I still can't believe I got the shot!
This was the start to a great day!
